I worked for years as a folksigner. I played festivals and fairs, schools and libraries, coffeehouses and gatherings. Not once did I ever have any desire to go "uptown" and play in a swanky restaurant.I mean....look what happens!

Your whole world morphs into shades of orange and blue, and you look totally ridiculous with a big-ass guitar draped over your elegant evening gown. People with even bigger hair than yours sit and gaze at you with such fierce admiration you must avert your eyes.
No thank you!
Actually, I found out about the real Hulda. There is an entire page on the internet devoted to her. She's from Iceland and she can really sing! You can listen to some of her music (recorded in 1968) by clicking here for Hulda.
Elvis Presley was born on this day. He would have been 72 years old. What a legend. I went to Graceland once and spent the entire time reading the wall surrounding the property. I never even made it inside. It was like reading the Berlin Wall except it was all about Elvis. I went into the gift shop and bought a 1998 special edition bottle of Coca Cola (with the Graceland logo) that I gave to acaldwell last year at JournalCon. He is the biggest Elvis fan I have ever known and he was thrilled to receive it. Never opened and worth about $10 on Ebay. The Coke, not acaldwell. HA HA
It's the beginning of five more days at work. I'm sure there will be many more surprises lurking around the corners just waiting to pop up and surprise me. It's a new game every day.
