Ahoy, ye scurvy dogs!

Scurvy Dogs

May 26, 2008

The night was stormy and delightful. As the rains fell and the skies rumbled, we had craft time (making our Roswell swan hats) and talked about our dreams and aspirations. We were fueled with strong coffee and duck farts. It was an excellent combo for greatness.

Gus, the amazing cocker spaniel, spent the night on my bed. He rolled over on his back and nibbled my fingers. He is the sweetest little dog in the world, and he stayed with me the whole night. He brought me a lot of his stuffed toys too. I think we were great friends in a previous life who renewed our friendship.

We are packing up and heading out for Amarillo this morning. It's still raining so the trip will take us longer.

Yankeechick lives WAY out in the woods, and since we didn't scatter a trail of breadcrumbs when we came in here yesterday, I know we could never find our way back to the highway.

This has been an excellent visit. It's always SO much fun to meet someone whom you have known through their writing. When you meet them, you can "hear" their writing in how they speak and what they say. This has really been fun.

We will be hitting the road soon. We are enjoying more strong coffee and some excellent breakfast muffins - and more heartfelt talking before we head out into the rain.

I wish we could stay longer. Maybe the truck won't start!
