Ahoy, ye scurvy dogs!

Scurvy Dogs

Cocoabean here, posting for our lovely Poolagirl.

When last we saw our heroine, she was sitting on a patio chair at her new house, saying OH. MY. GOD. repeatedly. Yes, today was the day that she and Roomie moved to their lovely new place. I'm sure Poolie will post pictures should she be able to find her camera and computer. Heh.

Poolie called me while I was on the way home from orientation. I was about ten minutes from her house, and I agreed to help her move. After all, she helped ME move, and I am a helpful person (most of the time).

They had already moved one full truck of boxes, so Poolie and I went back to her old house again with the truck, loaded it with boxes, bikes, shelves, tables and everything else that wasn't nailed down, and then took it all to her new house.

However, Poolie was so hungry that I thought she was going to faint, or start gnawing on the boxes in the back of the truck, so we got in my car and went in search of food before unloading.

We had to go to an Italian restaurant, with it's ambient (neener) smell of garlic, so Poolie's own unique bouquet would not be noticed. Ahem. She was a bit odiferous (neener).

While we were waiting, Poolie, with her sweat-stiffened hair, dug all the dirt out from under her fingernails. She thought maybe she had enough to start a terrarium, but neither of us brought a bag to collect the debris. We took turns visiting the restroom to wash our hands. I had to soap up twice, just to get it all off.

During our meal, Poolie told me all about the movers who came to take the heavy stuff out of the house, like the piano and the larger pieces of furniture. Apparently they were out on work release, although I can't remember why Poolie thought that. Maybe it was the sweat-stiffened beard the one guy had, but he was the better of the two guys, since he loved the roses Poolie had at her house.

I figured we'd better get Poolie back to her place and get that truck unloaded before she fell asleep with her face in her lasagna, and it didn't take nearly as long to unload as it did to load. Thank the gods! Once we finished, we just sat on the patio enjoying the cool breeze. That was when Poolie started chanting the OH. MY. GOD. and I figured it was time to clear out.

I'm sure by now she's fast asleep. Poor thing was so tired... and hopefully there will be a wireless signal in her neighborhood that she can catch and do her own update tomorrow.... although I am honored to be able to post for her today. I would do anything to help Poolie out... well... almost anything. As long as it doesn't involve ex-convict movers with sweat-soaked beards....
