Well, here we are at the Super 8 Motel in Amarillo, Texas. It was very long day and these two road warriors are tired. But never too tired to update with photos and stories. The top story today was.....finding CARNIES for chaos (aka cocoabean)! Yay! They weren't toting giant strawberries. I think it was some sort of pinwheel ride. She was SO excited! We saw them in Oklahoma were the waving wheat sure smelled sweet. And...did the wind ever come right behind the rain! Damn! We managed to just miss a kick ass storm that actually had forced some cars off the road. The wind sure does blown in West Oklahoma and the Panhandle of Texas!
Whilst crossing the Panhandle, we came upon a gigantic cross sticking up out of the landscape. Some folks say it is the world's largest cross, so when we got to Groom, Texas, we had to stop. It was more than a cross. It was a large shrine to the crucified Jesus. It was quite....something.
This is the cross. That's our truck next to it to add perspective.

That is one HUGE cross!
Here is Beanie moving the big rock in front of the tomb of Jesus. She is smiling and waving - so glad to be free of that confining sepluchre.

We played a car game for quite some time. It's an old favorite - Who Should Have Hitch Balls. Hitch balls can be awarded for attitude, how much stuff is thrown in the truck, or how macho is the driver. We awarded a fair amount of hitch balls today. We actually SAW them on one truck and one motorcycle!
They are also called Bumper Nuts. When properly installed, they look like this....

We spent a good part of the day missing our friend Yankeechick. She is SUCH a delight and she loved the clown shoes!
This much! Here she is introducing her critters to her new "look."

Here is a sexy pose on the front porch.

Here is a REALLY sexy pose on the porch!

That about says it all, doesn't it? She is really a ballet dancer! Look at that amazing turn out!
Here's a shot of the sweetie dog who kept me company all night. Gus, the Wonder Dog.

And about our swan hats looking like ducks..... Ahem! NOT! They are SWANS of the highest order. Here is a classy shot of my foil hat.

How can you say that looks like a duck?
And last but not least, here is a picture of the shoes visiting Harry Truman's outhouse. We stopped there on our way to Casa de Yankeechick.

Very classy, eh?

That's it. This road warrior is beat!
