Who ARE these people? And where was this photo taken? Jeebus! This is Beanie (left) and Rosie (right) posing at the place we are having our dinner theatre extravaganza this October.

Yes indeed! The Great Javelina Hunt of 2008 is off the ground! We spent most of yesterday morning planning this conference. We have our workshop titles, meeting venues, dinner theatre arrangements, etc. It is all falling into place! And...Tombstone has joined the current century with techology now, and wireless internet is readily available. Art says he can pick it up merely walking down the street - singing doo wah diddy diddy dum diddy doo.
About the Great Javelina Hunt....
This is NOT merely a gathering of our friends. We take our online journaling seriously, and we intend to have some serious topics discussed at the conference. It is open to everyone who wants to talk about writing, share ideas and concerns, meet other writers, and have a wonderful time in historic Tombstone, Arizona in October. A special site will be available with all information soon - but mark your calendars now!
October 23 (Thursday registration & opening reception)
October 24 (Breakfast, welcomes, workshops, lunch, and a re-enactment)
October 25 (Breakfast, workshops, time to explore Tombstone, dinner theatre, campfire, and the GREAT JAVELINA HUNT)
October 26 (Breakfast, final thoughts and farewells)
Doesn't that sound like fun? Think about it. Email me with TOMBSTONE in the subject line if you want more information.
Beanie and I had a great ride home yesterday. We stopped at a big truck stop in Arizona and got some cowgirl hats. Heaven forbid anyone should drive through that state without the proper headgear.
Here is Yippie Ti Yi Yo (aka "Beanie")

Here is Rawhide (aka me)

I know it's lame to wear a cowgirl hat with a string, but I just need the extra boost of confidence that I'm not going to lose it in the wind.
It's morning now - and Beanie just drove her new car for the first time. How exciting for her! She likes it!
Off-loading the truck in a bit.
Another busy day but at least I don't have to carry an atlas.
Oh, and lest I be remiss, this is just in from youtube compliments of Art. This is Yankeechick talking to her horses whilst wearing the clown shoes. She didn't know I was filming. HEEE HEEE!
